HSCL

The Home, School, Community Liaison Scheme, (HSCL), seeks to promote partnership between parents and teachers. The purpose of this partnership is to enhance pupils’ learning opportunities and to promote their retention in the education system. In addition, the HSCL Scheme places great emphasis on collaboration with the local community.

The five goals of the HSCL Scheme focus on:

• supporting marginalised pupils

• promoting co-operation between home, school, and community

• empowering parents

• retaining young people in the education system

• disseminating best practice.

Edwina Magan is the appointed HSCL, Home School Community Liaison Officer.

Ms Mangan is available during school times and school terms to support parents and their child and can be contacted at: 087-718-0969, or 097-811-57.

Lunches:

Every day each student is provided with a hot dinner and small healthy snacks such as crackers and cheese, fruit and rice cakes. The students have a choice of 3 dinners (one vegetarian option). Some examples of the dinners provided by Fresh Today are; spaghetti bolognese, beef stew, chicken curry, burritos and pasta with chicken and tomato sauce. This is free for all students and is in place to make sure that all students have access to a hot lunch.
